THE SCIENCE-Y BIT

Collagen fibres are the building blocks 'holding up' your skin, keeping it plumped up. From age 25, we start losing collagen and produce less, especially during menopause. Diet and lifestyle choices can also damage collagen and inhibit production.

Stimulating collagen production helps to build the skin structure back up again, keeping it looking firm and plumped.

Radio waves (radiofrequency) are vibrations that travel at a distinct frequency, used in aesthetic treatments to heat below the skin’s surface, stimulating collagen and elastin production which results in firmer skin.

The energy from radio waves causes the cells below the skin’s surface to oscillate (vibrate), which creates heat that must be sustained at 39-42℃.  This causes collagen contraction and skin tightening, as well as increasing circulation and therefore increasing oxygenation.

radiofrequency vs microcurrent

Radiofrequency uses radio waves (electromagnetic spectrum) to heat and firm below the skin’s surface, stimulating collagen and elastin production and blood flow.

Microcurrent uses electrical pulses to stimulate the facial muscles, firming and toning the muscles, as well as stimulating collagen and elastin production and blood flow.

Radiofrequency is best for tightening and firming the skin. Microcurrent is best for toning and contouring the facial muscles. Use both treatments for best results.

radiofrequency vs led light therapy

LED light therapy uses concentrated light from the visible light spectrum (electromagnetic spectrum). Different lights penetrate the skin at different levels, triggering different responses. Penetrating the deepest of the 3 light therapies, red light reaches the deep tissue to encourage cell renewal and boost collagen production.

The two technologies work in a very similar way but LED uses light energy and radiofrequency uses electrical energy. Use both treatments for best results.

WHY USE RADIOFREQUENCY?

If you're looking for plumper, firmer, smoother skin without knives or needles, radiofrequency could be the solution for you.

As a painless, safe and non-invasive treatment for facial firming and toning, radiofrequency offers a more natural solution than injectables, 'tweakments' or surgery that can be done easily, effectively and affordably at home.
